Victorian Government eases on-site auction & open home restrictions from June 1st

Premier Daniel Andrews has announced that from June 1 up to 20 people will be allowed to attend on-site auctions and open for inspections.

Auctions and open homes only resumed in Victoria on May 13 after a six-week ban to help stop the spread of Coronavirus.

In a statement released over the weekend, Mr Andrews said that low rates of community transmission coupled with high rates of testing, had put the state in a position to make some changes.

“Auctions and open for inspections will also be subject to the 20-person limit – plus those required to keep the contact details of everyone who attends, “ he said.

“If community transmission rates continue to remain low and testing rates continue to remain high, we will look to further relax restrictions from 22 June.”

The attendance limit for on-site auctions and inspections is currently 10 people, excluding real estate agents, and will remain in place until 11:59pm on May 31.

Those attending PhilipWebb auctions and open homes will still need to register their details with the listing agent and abide by social distancing and hygiene protocols.
