Tiny Houses Generating Huge Auction Buzz

Tiny Houses Generating Huge Auction Buzz

PhilipWebb Real Estate in conjunction with Tiny House Trailer Homes and Hangan Construction will be auctioning two ‘Tiny Homes’ on Saturday 18th November at 12:00pm.

Hugely popular in the United States, Canada and the UK, Tiny Homes are all about living small. These diminutive dwellings provide an affordable (and transportable) alternative for those looking to downsize, invest or go off-grid.

This auspicious occasion marks the very first time these homes have been auctioned in Australia. The auctions will be conducted on site at Hangan Construction’s headquarters – Factory 8, 36 New Street, Ringwood – by PhilipWebb Licensed Estate Agent and Auctioneer Mitchal Towns.

“The great Australian property dream is typically large scale. But with block sizes getting smaller and housing affordability slipping out of reach for many, the idea of small-scale living is more achievable,’’ says Mitchal.

“Tiny Homes offer a unique lifestyle opportunity. They are a sustainable, low cost and low impact permanent living option. They could alternatively be set up in your own backyard to accommodate extended family or tenants”.

Professionally built by certified tradesmen, there are two different styles up for grabs. ‘The Hillside’ features a pitched roof with a loft bedroom while ‘The High Country’ is slightly smaller, set over a single level. Both have Scandinavian-inspired interiors and boast all the mod-cons including bathrooms, air conditioning, stainless-steel kitchen appliances and televisions.

Official auction promotion is yet to begin but over 900 parties have already registered for the first open for inspection while an additional 9,000 have expressed their interest.

Open for inspections will be held on the 4th, 11th and 18th of November from 10:00am until 12:00pm. A BBQ will be held at each and 1 in 100 who register their interest will automatically be put into the draw to win a weekend stay at a Tiny Home located in Bright, Victoria.
