In this week’s Sunday Suburb Spotlight, we catch up with Sales Consultant Nima Goharpey to talk all things Templestowe – a suburb well-placed for both growth and current lifestyle.
What makes Templestowe a great place to raise a family?
I’ve grown up in the area, so I think it has a certain charm. Some of the most renowned schools in Victoria are located here and the area is well-serviced by public transport with bus routes to the CBD. There’s Westerfolds Park and some fantastic shopping precincts including Templestowe Village and Macedon Square.
Where is your go-to for coffee or dining?
Templestowe Village is the best location for coffee or food. Westfield Doncaster is also close which is great for dining and if you don’t mind travelling a bit further there’s Eastland as well.
What are three benefits of living in this suburb?
1. Great amenities.
2. Everything is close.
3. Price growth has been quick because quality homes are surrounded by excellent facilities.
Is there a variety of sporting clubs and leisure centres?
Absolutely! There’s a vast array of recreational facilities suitable for all ages; Manningham Templestowe Leisure Centre and Aquarena Aquatic and Leisure Centre plus football, tennis and bowls clubs.
Are many events held throughout the year in Templestowe?
Manningham Council holds a number of local community events and festivals throughout the year. One that attracts a lot of people to the suburb is Manningham Family Festival which is run annually by the Rotary Club of Templestowe at Finns Reserve. There’s rides, animals, performances, food and crafts.
Are any future developments in the works that will improve property prices?
Westfield Doncaster is set to undergo a $500 million extension which will make it the biggest shopping centre in the area and one of the largest in Australia. Widening of the Eastern Freeway is also on the cards which will support transportation locally.
