Signs You’ve Found the Perfect Home for You

When it comes to house hunting, the journey can be both exciting and daunting at the same time. It is a life-changing purchase that requires patience, attention to detail and sometimes even a little good luck.

Signing your name on the dotted line for a home purchase is one of the biggest decisions you’ll ever make. You’ve probably seen more than a few properties that you liked, whether online or in person. But how do you know with certainty that you’ve found THE one – the best place for you and your family to live?

When everything just feels right

One of the signs that you’ve found the right home is when everything just feels right. When you can feel it in your heart and your intuition is telling you this feels like home. It’s this feeling that many people describe as love at first sight. When this happens, it’s important to listen to your gut instinct and trust what it’s telling you.

All your boxes are checked

There are many things to consider when buying a home. Consider what you are looking for in a house and make a list of qualities that you would like to have. This may include the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, an open floor plan, plenty of outside space, and proximity to work, school or shops/restaurants. Next, make a list of things that you do not want in your home. These deal breakers are things that would prevent you from purchasing a house no matter how much you like it otherwise.

If the house checks all your boxes and includes none of your deal-breakers, you will know you have found the right home.

Everyone in your family loves it

The emotions of buying a new home can be overwhelming for everyone involved — especially if your kids are leaving behind their old school and friends. So, if everyone loves the house and is excited about moving there, it’s definitely a good sign you’ve found something promising!

You project yourself

When you’re no longer just inspecting homes, but starting to imagine yourself living in it. You can picture your family gathered around the dining room table, having games night in the living room, or having a barbeque out on the patio. If these images spring to mind and make your heart swell up—then this is likely the place for you.

You don’t feel like inspecting other homes anymore

Perhaps the biggest sign that you have found the right home is when you no longer feel like inspecting others. You’re no longer interested in house hunting and everything else seem to pale in comparison. Usually, we are so excited about buying our new home that we keep searching endlessly until we find the perfect one. So when that excitement fades away, it probably means you have already found what you’re looking for.
