There are more than 1,650 properties scheduled to go under the hammer this week across Victoria, in one of the busiest auction weekends of 2021.
It comes after a further easing of restrictions was announced, which will allow up to 500 people to gather for real estate activity from Friday, pending density limits. Despite uncertainty around the exact legalities, the latest easing of restrictions is welcomed news for Melbourne’s real estate industry.
According to the roadmap, up to 500 fully vaccinated people can attend an auction outdoors with a density limit of one person per 2 sq m, once Victoria reaches its 80 per cent double vaccination target. For open houses and indoor auctions, a density limit of one person per 4sq m is required.
Adam Docking, president of the Real Estate Industry of Victoria, is yet to receive confirmation from the Victorian government on what exactly will be allowed from Friday but expects further clarity around the roadmap to be announced later this week.
Philip Webb Real Estate is thrilled to be conducting traditional auctions once again, with planned onsite auctions from this Saturday. Despite having great success with online auctions, there is nothing like the street theatre of a public auction.
For those who are not double vaccinated, auction bidding must be done via our online platform, Anywhere Auctions, which we will continue to run for the foreseeable future. And if you wish to inspect a property, this must be done via private appointments only.
